Engagement Rule 14 for Leaders: You are the U in Urgency
You create the urgency in your unit. Make sure when you manufacture urgency for a project or goal that you give your employees the reasons why it is urgent and what’s in it for them (WIIFM). Do not share with them what you will receive when you hit the goal. Most of your employees do not care about helping you yet. It is takes time for people to buy into your vision. Even then, always revert to what’s in it for them (WIIFM).
