Study the productivity and reports but do not be tied to them. It is very easy to get caught up in the data alone. Data is only a tool to help you gauge the future outcome based on trends and results. This does not account for enthusiasm, inspiration and motivation that you can deliver to your team. When you allow yourself to get caught up in the data, it can desensitize you. This can cause issues if you only look at the data to assess your employees’ effectiveness.
