The first reaction of any leader is to execute change. It is a natural instinct to want to change the operation or department to reflect your leadership thoughts and ideals, but this can be detrimental to the entire operation. Keep in mind that your employees will have to adjust to a leader with new thoughts, ideas, policies and a different personality. Wait awhile before making any significant changes; take the time to interview the crew. The suggested wait time for major or significant changes is 90 days.
